Volleyball Development Camps

Early sign-up for the 2009 VbDC camp is recommended (please click on the Application Form button below).

The camp caters to those with an established record of competitive play and those entering the upper levels of the sport, through coaching sessions held both on and off the court
.

Places are restricted, in order to balance the training and scrimmage sessions especially at the elite level.

Students interested in attending should have their coaches prepare a letter of introduction outlining the skillsets, abilities and competitive experience of the student-athlete.

Each participant receives a written assessment of their performance during the camp issued by the head coach, and recommendations for steps they should take to improve their performance issued by the trainer.

Basic cost of the camp is £235, but registration and payment prior to May 31st qualifies for a basic cost of £195.

The basic price includes tuition, a camp souvenir and a T-shirt.
Sack lunches can be provided for the week for £30.

Summer 2009 Elite & Skills Camps

Concentrating on the elite and emerging elite volleyball player, the Volleyball Development Camps program is designed specifically for students already playing competitive ball.
Some participants will be able to plan their own accommodation and transport, but if assistance is required VbDC will be happy to help arrange accommodation, either in local hotels, bed and breakfasts, or where appropriate, in the homes of families whose children are participating in the camp, and can provide transport to and from the sports hall.

Housing and transport costs are charged in additional to the basic fee. VbDC program prices compare favourably to the university camps in the US, on which it is modelled, where three-day residential camps at an established program will cost approximately $650.

Students-athletes wishing to attend should submit the enquiry form below, including a letter of recommendation from their coach. The letter of recommendation should provide a brief background on the student-athlete’s training under the coach’s supervision, positions played, the level of competition in which the student has participated, and the coach’s recommendations for skills development.
